Happy Holidays from CA Library!

Today is the last day of school before our holiday break for Canandaigua City Schools, and I wanted to take a few moments to wish everyone I work with — and even those I don’t — a happy and safe holiday season.

At this time of year, we all celebrate different things, whether it be Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or your own personal beliefs. Whatever the reason, please take a moment to remember that as you faceĀ challenges throughout the year, the most important resources that you have are the people around you — family, friends, teachers and students.

As Clarence said in the classic holiday film It’s A Wonderful Life: “no man is a failure who has friends.”

We have some exciting things planned for CA Library in the New Year. I hope to start our student book club as soon as we can work out the details, an expanded reading contest (in addition to the Great Scavenger Hunt) is in the works, and I finally am ready to unveil the CA Library Facebook page — more details are on the way.

Have a great break, stay safe and we’ll see you in the New Year!
