Pete Hautman on the Air

Last fall, Pete Hautman, National Book Award-winning author of many books available at CA Library, posted on his blog “Ten Reasons Not To Write Novels For Teens” (I’ll give you two: for fame and for fortune. Check the blog to see the rest.)

This morning, he was a guest on Minnesota Public Radio, where he talked about reasons not to write for teens, as well a his new book The Big Crunch. Click here to hear the interview.

During the segment, host Kerri Miller invited listeners to share the titles of books that had been particularly meaningful to them when they were teenagers. Hautman indicated two books that he remembered reading when he was that age were The Source, James Michener’s epic historical novel that traces the history of the Jewish people and the land of Israel, and J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic fantasy The Lord of the Rings.
