In my last post, I included the winners of the Trailee Awards, a contest sponsored by School Library Journal to recognize outstanding examples of book trailers.

I also wanted to mention that my absolute favorite trailer among the winners comes from the publisher/author-created category — GhostGirl: Lovesick by Tonya Hurley, the 3rd book in the series about Charlotte Usher, who died in the first book but finds herself trying to navigate a place more terrifying than the afterlife — high school.

To me, this professionally-produced short video does everything a successful trailer should — it evokes the setting of the book, it captures the essence of the themes in the story, and, most importantly, it makes me want to read the book.
