Spooky Podcasts For Halloween! 👻

Podcasts are super popular right now, and it’s no wonder — they’re an easy way to hear a great story, either fictional or totally true. Here are some of my favorite podcasts for the spooky season leading up to Halloween!

Lore — The flagship program from Aaron Mahnke’s Grim & Mild production company, this is one of my favorite podcasts. Lore is an award-winning podcast about true life scary stories, exposing the darker side of history, and exploring the creatures, people, and places of our wildest nightmares. This episode features some good old-fashioned ghost stories from the world of folklore:

The Haunted Road — Also from Grim & Mild, Amy Bruni, the star of television’s hit paranormal shows Kindred Spirits and Ghost Hunters, takes listeners on a guided tour of America’s most haunted locations, with the help of expert paranormal investigators who have actually been there. This episode takes a look at the Stanley Hotel in Colorado, the location that inspired Stephen King to write one of his most chilling novels, The Shining:

The Midnight Library — This podcast is for those that prefer the more shadowy, mysterious things in life but maintain a sense of humor, albeit subversive … think Tim Burton. The Midnight Library is a place where you can go to hear a spooky old tale or dreary story to warm your chilled, dark heart … just a bit. In this episode, there’s a rumor in The Village that The Midnight Library holds secret, exclusive parties, and that only certain people ever get invited. If you believe such things, you can only hope that you might be on the guest list:

Astonishing Legends — A podcast exploring the strange, unusual, and unexplained. where co-hosts Scott Philbrook & Forrest Burgess do deep dives into the paranormal. This episode features listener tales, true Halloween stories sent in by fans of the podcast:

History Goes Bump — A podcast dedicated to the side of history that goes bump in the night. Episodes feature interviews and discussions about historic locations, events or persons and the hauntings associated with them, plus listener experiences. This episode features Skinwalker Ranch in Utah, an area infused with stories of Spanish mines, legends of buried treasures, remnants of ancient civilizations, UFO activity and tales of strange phenomena like cattle mutilations, cryptids and poltergeists.

Spooked — Now in its 7th season, Spooked features true-life supernatural stories, told firsthand by people who can barely believe it happened themselves. Created in the dark of night by Snap Judgment and WNYC Studios.

13 Days of Halloween  — Another Grim & Mild program, 13 Days of Halloween is a unique auditory adventure that flirts with the line between ethereal horror and thrilling campfire tales, and brought to life with powerful, 360-degree surround sound technology. Listeners will spend 13 days immersed in chilling tales that all build up to a grand conclusion. New episodes are released every day starting October 19th, ending on Halloween. Season 3 — Devil’s Night — premiered this week on at Grim & Mild!

Full Body Chills — Ever miss those spooky campfire stories you heard growing up? Well, gather round… and listen close.
